Funky Mr. Salvador

That was our start into the evening. Funky Mr Salvador is very sneaky and hidden.

The restaurant just recently opened and is located in the heart of Frankfurt Nordend. We entered and with courteous service we got offered an Aperitivo. Mhhhh, we were astonished by the drink.

Fact: Funky Mr. Salvador is not only a great place to get some good food but also to have a nice drink.

Before our dinner actually started, the owner gave us some philosophic background of the restaurant its concept & idea. Everything started when he was travelling to Barcelona with a good friend who is now the chef. Both were inspired by the Spanish food- Tapas. However, they wanted to generate dishes where you have a bit of a bigger plate but still something to share. All their ingredients are freshly bought every 2 days and from this they create fancy dishes around the seasonal food they get.

We started with some classic bread and olive oil. “Classic”- well not so classic. It was homemade bread with homemade olive oil and olive paste. It was delicious.

For the main Funky Salvador changes the menu frequently; which makes your meal a bit of a surprise. No option to check online.

We had pulpo with pea paste and potatoes, endive salad with can cherries and Fattoush (bread salad).

Everything was something we have never tried before and super tasty.

The interior is also breathtaking. With the logo deign of the design agency Schultzschultz the restaurant has its unique flair. It is a cozy and great space for an interesting evening in Frankfurt. Here, you do not even feel that you are in a city like Frankfurt, it feels like a little getaway.

For the summer they are planning their terrace with a Japanese bbq. We are excited! The terrace is huge and it will surely be a great place to enjoy a good cocktail with funky food.
